Title I is a federally
funded program providing supplementary services in reading instruction. At Martson School in Kindergarten, students
are assessed at the start of the school year and referred by the classroom teacher to receive support services.
Students receive one-on-one or small group tutoring in the Title I room and in the classroom. The kindergarten
program focuses on early reading strategies such as letter identification, sight words, and writing skills. At
Bartlett and Brown Schools, Title I is offered in the classroom with limited pullout sessions. All students are
provided opportunities in the Schoolwide Model, with particular attention given to children at risk of not meeting
the state’s student academic achievement standards. |
