Every athlete is expected to follow the basic rules of behavior as set forth in the student-parent manual. First time violations of the rules could result in suspension from one to five games including tournaments. Repeated offenses may result in dismissal from athletics. For an athlete this could mean the loss of all athletic awards.
The use of tobacco of any kind could result in suspension from participation.
Athletes must not use, or illegally possess drugs, or alcohol. A first time violation could result in a five game suspension. Repeated violations could result in dismissal from a team.
Athletes who sell alcohol or drugs will be dismissed from participation indefinitely.
Athletes may not attend teenage gatherings/functions where alcohol/drugs are present. verified violations could result in a one or more game suspension from the first offense and could result in dismissal from a team for subsequent violations.
In certain instances mandatory drug and alcohol counseling will be required before an athlete is reinstated.
Every athlete is expected to travel to and from an athletic event with the team. No exceptions will be made without parental consent.
Every athlete will be responsible for all the equipment issued to him/her. All equipment must be returned at the end of the season. Any lost or damageed equipment must be paid for before the athlete can participate in another activity.
Any student not in school the day after a scheduled interscholastic activity will not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled activity. Extenuating circumstances will be considered.
A violation review committee will consist of the principal, assistant principal, Athletic Director, and the coach involved. The committee will make every effort to see that the rules and regulations are applied fairly.
Any decision rendered by the administration may be appealed to the superintendant of schools. Final appeal is to the Board of Education.
