BHS is a comprehensive high school designed for 750 students, with core facilities to permit future expansion. The complex includes an academic area consisting of 20 general classrooms, 6 science labs, a 90 seat lecture hall, library, administrative area, guidance area, dining area, gym and lockers; and an extensive vocational program that includes business and office occupations, distributive occupations, health and home economics and trade and industry shops. All areas except shops are serviced by a complete ventilation system that charcoal filters both return and fresh air. Shops are ventilated in a normal fashion. The building is within walking distance of the city center and is zoned to facilitate both evening and community use. In addition to its provisions for expansion, the Berlin High School is capable of being altered internally to adjust the spaces to modifications in educational consepts.
