PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS

PHILOSOPHY

We are committed to the ideal that all students have a right to an education. Our primary concern is to develop the students' knowledge, skills, and attitudes to a degree that will enable them to function in and contribute to our society, and to continue learning throughout their lives. We are further committed to developing in our students a strong character and an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of a good citizen. With an awareness of changes taking place in society, we must constantly evaluate and revise the program we offer to our students. This program includes opportunities to participate in extra-and co-curricular activities as well as liberal arts and technical education. We recognize many learning styles and abilities and seek to offer those mediums by which students may best learn. The educational program takes a holistic approach to the welfare of its students and strives to provide the necessary services to that end. We believe education is a cooperative effort involving students, parents, the school staff and the community. We also expect that students will assume an active responsibility for their education. We seek to engender a respect for the individuality of others, as well as to help students recognize the need for self-0respect. Our ultimate goal is to develop educated individuals who are intellectually flexible enough to adjust to a changing world.
