National Honor Society

Berlin High School's Maynesborough Chapter of the National Honor Society is one of the oldest societies in the NHS charter. Its existence has been uninterrupted since recieving a charter in 1926. In fact, the chapter bears the original name given to this township.

National Honor Society Goals:

• provide service
  
• excercise leadership skills
  
• build character
  
• promote excellence in students' academics
  

Elegibility Requirements:

• active participation in community service projects
  
• obtain a weighted average of 94 or above over three semesters
  
• completed 3 semesters of high-school study
  

Curent Activities:

• Annual high school quiz; with St. Jude's Research Hospital of Memphis, Tennessee.
  
• Annual fund raising; for purchase of facilities at the Northern Forest Heritage Park.
  
• School beautification projects, including a marble bench, stone patio, granite wall, and a six-foot tall mountie statue.
