BHS Hide-Away-Cafe

The Hide-Away-Cafe is a unique way for some of Berlin's special education students to acquire culinary arts skills. They, under the supervision of teacher Mr. Lauze and several traditional student aides, operate a cafe where teachers and administrators may enjoy a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches during their scheduled lunch period. The Hide-Away-Cafe is designed like a small luncheonette. Lunches ordered at the Hide-Away-Cafe are served to the guests by the students. It has become a very popular spot.

The Hide-Away-Cafe also features a school store where students and faculty can purchase school supplies and snacks. Students working here can learn how to operate a cash register and to handle money and receipts.
